Journey To Anakulam, Idukki
Anakulam Is famous for the presence of large number of Elephants. Name of this place is also related to Elephants. Anakulam= Ana + Kulam" Ana" means Elephant in Malayalam and " Kulam" means Pond or Lake. The main attraction of the place is a fresh and cool natural water flow. In the centre of the river, there is an area where water bubbles are coming out. Elephants are coming there to drink water from this area, the belief is that that water contains some special taste.
To reach this place we need to travel through forest. From Kallar on Adimaly - Munnar Road we need to take deviation to Mankulam. Kallar- Mankulam road is so interesting. On the Way to Mankulam, we can feel the real beauty of nature.

After a 30/ 45 Mins of Journey You will reach Mankulam, a small village blessed with the wonders of nature.
From Mankulam, you can go to Anakulam in two ways: one is through forest and another is through Kuwait City. But I suggest you to go through forest. For that you need a 4x4 vehicle. U can hire Jeep from Mankulam. It wont cost too much.
This bridge is the Entrance to Forest from main Road. Actually this bridge is over a river and just near the bridge there is deep, large and dangerous water fall .

When we cross the bridge we will enter into the forest. The roads are not so good. But the jeep will carry you. After a 5 min journey you will reach the interesting area, where you need to travel trough river to cross it. I am sure you all will like it..
